Recently, Roh Moo-hyun, in a private meeting with the Japananese prime minister, suggested changing the name of the East Sea/Sea of Japan to a more neutral name, such as “Sea of Peace,” or some other name to defuse the tension over all this stupid stress over nomenclature. Pollution will kill but names can’t hurt the East Sea, er Sea of Japan, you know, that body of water between The Koreas, Japan and Russia.

The above picture appeared in a 2000 or 2001 (I am not sure) issue of the Surfer’s Journal along with an article I wrote.  The name of the article is “Surfing the Cold War.
